But walking through these streets, you’ll see fewer signs of glory and more 'mountains of garbage.' One family has ruled the BMC for decades, but all Mumbaikars got in return is stench and filth. According to the 2024 CAG report, over 50% of bulk waste generators do not process their waste at all. Between 2016 and 2022, 51 lakh metric tons of waste was dumped in Deonar, yet 'Waste to Energy' projects remain only on paper! The pockets of contractors and transporters are being lined, but the city remains filthy. How did your hands not tremble while pushing Mumbai into this mess? Or has your morality turned into trash amidst all the scam money? We usually see ""Use Me"" written on dustbins, but here, they have literally ""used"" the garbage for their own profit and scams.
